Frequently Asked Questions

At Wind River CBD, our goal is to provide you with as much information on our family of products.  We understand that you may have questions as the CBD Industry is still fairly new and still earning recognition in the medical communities.  Below, you will find a list of the most popular questions we receive, and should you have a question you don’t see, feel free to contact us.

Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD, is a powerful plant extract that has been used for medicinal purposes for hundreds of years.  CBD is one of the at least 113 Cannabinoids extracted from a proprietary strain of the hemp plant, not to be confused with the plant used to produce marijuana.

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a recently discovered group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body. The endocannabinoid receptors that make up the ECS are located in our Central Nervous System (CNS), Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) and Immune System. Our CNS includes our brain and spinal cord, while the PNS acts as a communication network linking our CNS to the rest of our body.

Our brains contain the heaviest concentration of cannabinoid receptors, but there’s no shortage of them in our organs, tissues, glands and more. The saturation of ECS receptors throughout our body is part of why CBD has so many uses and is so effective.

Do me a favor.  Search “CBD” on google and read some of the many articles and studies that have been done on CBD.  There are Harvard reviews on CBD, Healthline articles on CBD,  and many other reputable sources describing the benefits and side effects of CBD.  As with all supplements, each body reacts differently and the effects vary.  We encourage you to research CBD online and determine if it is a good fit for you.

We encourage you to email us directly at [email protected] to learn more.  Wind River will take the time to understand what pre-existing conditions you may have and make a recommendation based on the information you provide.  However, our recommendation is that you start off with a low dose and once your body has become accustomed to CBD, you can gradually increase the dosage.

As with Children, before starting a regiment, we suggest speaking with your Physician to determine the correct dosage.

Everyone’s biology is different; no two people are alike.  While some of our friends and family have seen immediate results, there are some factors you should take into consideration when using CBD.  Your body chemistry, frequency and the amount of CBD you ingest are all factors to think about. The effects of CBD are quickened when taken sublingually (under your tongue) and with a fat such as a Medium Chain Triglyceride commonly known as  MCT Oil.

Tetrahydrocannabinol also known as THC, is one of the primary cannabinoids found along with CBD and marijuanas strongest cannabinoid.  You should understand that THC may be present in products containing the legal amount of .3% or less and it may trigger on a drug test.  Our products range from 0% THC to 0.3% at the highest level. If you’re concerned about passing a drug test, we recommend taking the time to consider whether CBD is a right fit for you.

CBD is considered to have psychoactive qualities, meaning it affects our central nervous system, however CBD does not produce this effect.  You aren’t going to have a mind altering experience that high volumes of THC gives you.

Our recommendation is to store Wind River CBD Products at room temperature.  You may refrigerate our products, however we use amber colored glass bottles to reduce photodegradation.

Much like humans, our pets are vulnerable to chemical imbalance.   One consideration with the treatment of animals is that there is a far greater concentration of cannabinoid receptors in an animal’s brain that can react with cannabinoids.  That’s important to note, because our pets’ brains may be more receptive to cannabinoids than us humans.  Wind River Pet CBD is  formulated to be effective for any of your Pets.  Remember to start them at a low dose and gradually increase doses.  Wind River CBD For Pets continues to demonstrate positive results such as: separation and storm anxiety, joint pain, and a reduction in travel stress.

As with humans, we recommend speaking with your Veterinarian to determine the proper dose for your pet’s weight and stature.

CBD is Legal in Wyoming and many states.  It’s best to check regulations within your state before purchasing a CBD product.

Wind River is currently shipping orders in the state of Wyoming.

Recently, in 2018, the United States Farm Bill was passed.  This Bill allows US Farmers to legally grow and sell industrial hemp.  Because of this Bill, we now have the ability to study, manufacture, sell and consume products created with industrial hemp that contain less than .3% THC.
